Today is the first day of my maternity-pediatrics semester. Woot woot! I am not going to think about our bank account (pretty depleted after our MUCH NEEDED vay-cay) or about the AWESOME looking Ecplise clip that was released on Oprah (can't wait!), or the fact that HR came and talked to the graduating-this-summer students and pretty much said BLECH on you and the job market.
No. I am going to think about babies and pregnant mommies and about catching babies all covered in goo and sick kiddies and making people feel better. Because that is why I am in school - to make people feel better.
I have made straight B's throughout nursing school...while I've worked and played and tried to fix up our house...but I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to make an A this semester. We shall see!
For all 5 of you that read on a regular basis, sorry about the blogging delay. I was seriously burnt out about a month ago, all the way until my vacation. But, I'm back!

The weather today is simply wonderful, and I've opened all the windows in my house! I just passed my LAST med-surge nursing test (not with a great grade...but HEY anything above an 80 is passing!), I have a hair appointment set for Thursday, I finally get to see the new modern art museum tonight AND book club is on Wednesday!!! YAY AWESOMENESS! And I get to finally watch Avatar while I paint my $5 table from the Goodwill Re-Store. =) Life is good at the moment and I'm just going to sit back and chill with it.
On a book note, I finished The Road (did I already tell you that?) and As I Lay Dying. Finally reading Faulkner made me realize that I shouldn't be intimidated by any writer. I have been putting off Faulkner for YEARS (and I was an English major...) because I was intimidated and thought he would be absolutely boring. I was so pleasantly surprised! It was a wonderful novel - it was funny, sarcastic, biting and poignant. I just loved it. Thanks to S for suggesting that one.AND M put up our ceiling fan in the kitchen. It looks three billion times better than that old piece of crap that has been hanging up there since we moved in. I can't tell you how big the smile was on my face when we took that old thing down!!! There is so much more to talk about, but I want to watch Avatar!
That was my theme at work tonight. On another note, I have a TON OF SHIT TO DO, so this post shall be VERY SHORT.
I just bought "Hello" on iTunes...the GLEE version. =) I know Cory Monteith is super cute and all, and I know Jonathan Groff's character is all skeezy...but I LAV HIM. sighhhhh. I also bought the GLEE version of "Like a Prayer." Bitchin.
Our friends had their baby and she is the sweetest thing I have EVER SEEN.
Our kitchen cart is DONE AND LOOKS AWESOME (pics to come).
